            There was a man, named Nick Carraway. He lived in West Egg, the west side of Long Island. He was a neighbor of Gatsby. He was a newly wealthy man who lives in a mansion. He made a party every week in his mansion. Nick has a cousin, named Daisy Buchanan who lived in East Egg. She was married with Tom Buchanan, a wealthy and cruel man.

            At last Nick knew that there was a close relationship between Daisy and Gatsby. Daisy was a five years ago Gatsby love. At that time, Gatsby was sent to Europe war, but he promised to Daisy that he would never stop loving her. He asked her to wait for him. But Daisy left him because he was poor. She was married with Tom Buchanan, but they had an unhappy marriage life. They had one daughter. Besides, Tom had an affair with a woman, named Myrtle Wilson. Even, Tom invited Nick to go with his mistress. Tom had no fear.

            One day, Gatsby wanted to meet with Daisy. He asked Nick to help him. So they met and had a close relationship again. Gatsby had known Tom and otherwise, Tom also had known Gatsby. Tom didn’t like Gatsby, but sometimes they went together. While Gatsby, Daisy, Tom, Nick, and Jordan were in New York City hotel to have a recreation, there is a confrontation during which Tom exposes Gatsby’s corrupt business dealings. At last, Gatsby said that Daisy didn’t love Tom, but she loved him. It built a conflict, so that Gatsby and Daisy left to drive back to Long Island together with Daisy’s driving Gatsby’s car to make her calm.  Daisy accidentally hit and killed Tom’s mistress who was running out in front of the gas station after her own jealous husband had locked her inside the house.

            Tom refocused on Daisy since his mistress had been killed. He was assuming Gatsby to have been the car’s driver. While Nick went off to work in New York City, Mr. Wilson, who assumed Gatsby to have been driving his car that night and told that it had been Gatsby’s car by Tom Buchanan, shot Gatsby. Gatsby died in his own swimming pool and then Mr. Wilson killed himself. Knowing the death of Gatsby, Mr. Gatz, Gatsby’s father came from the Midwest where Gatsby grew up. Only few people came to the Gatsby funeral, include Nick and Mr. Gatz. Hundreds people who came to his party every week didn’t come to Gatsby funeral and seemed feel not care. Besides, Daisy, who didn’t know about the death of Gatsby, and Tom had move away and started a new life.

Money isn’t everything. People in the world are like Gatsby who are poor, tried hard only for get much money and high prestige, but when they have nothing, everybody will leave them. It shows that true friends and family don’t look at our condition. They can receive our condition however we are. They are not close to us when we are in the top, and leave us when we are down. They are always being there for us. Trying to get much money make people crazy and forget many important thing in their life. Love is beautiful, but the way we show our love is very important. Love is not forcing. Love is not lie. Love, loyal, and honesty are very important in one relationship.

Like or Dislike:

            Actually, the first I told that it is a love story, it seemed interesting for me. But when I read it, I felt it was very difficult to understand because the language of the book is too difficult. But when I read more, I became more interesting to read. Overall I like the story. The story is very good and it also educates me to be a better person.
